Organics Veg
Weekly or Fortnightly Seasonal Organic Veg from the Farm. Join us and reconnect to the land.
Our Veg Patch
The veg patch is the heart of the farmyard, with pick up days busy with comings and goings. You can get to know the farm, your fellow veg bag members and the way the seasons ebb and flow. We try to connect the farm to members as much as possible with updates, open days, events, walks, talks and other ways of getting you involved.
“Our aim is to offer good, healthy and sustainable food to our local community. Simple.”
— Graeme & Polly, Farmers at Slade Farm
Locally Grown, Community Supported, Seasonally Fresh
Our 2025 veg bag scheme runs for 30 weeks—from late May through to Christmas—offering fresh, organic vegetables grown right here on our family farm in St Brides Major.
Each bag contains 7–9 seasonal vegetables, picked from our fields and ready to collect between Thursday and Saturday lunchtime. Choose between a weekly or fortnightly collection—whatever works best for you
What’s in the Bag?
Each week’s veg bag reflects the natural rhythm of the seasons and what’s ready to harvest from our fields:
In early summer, expect fresh favourites like peas, broad beans, spring onions, spinach, lettuce, baby carrots, and new potatoes.
As summer unfolds, you’ll find sun-loving crops like tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, courgettes, sweet peppers, French beans, and crisp salad leaves.
Into autumn and winter, the harvest shifts to hearty, nourishing staples—think squash, cabbage, kale, leeks, onions, potatoes, carrots, swede, and cauliflower.

The costs for a bag is a standard £23 per week with an option to pay for an additional week to fund accessible veg bags for our partners at SPLICE Child and Family Project in Pyle, Each season we fund a number of veg bags each week for SPLICE to distribute to families that they work with. We do this by asking members to pay for an extra week when they sign up 31 rather than 30. This additional week goes into a pot and contributes to funding bags for SPLICE, we also approach trust and grant making bodies to help fund these bags.

Supporting Families through SPLICE
We’re proud to partner with SPLICE Child and Family Project in Pyle, which works with young families across Bridgend County. Each year, we provide a number of free veg bags for SPLICE to distribute—helping improve access to healthy, nutritious food in the early years of life.
You can help. When you sign up for the season, we ask if you'd like to pay for one extra week (31 instead of 30). That extra payment goes directly into a community fund supporting SPLICE families. We also apply for grants and funding to grow this support even further.
