Experience Sustainable Farming First-Hand

We love opening the gates of Slade Farm to schools, community groups, and local organisations.

A visit here is a chance to step into the landscape and explore how food is grown in harmony with nature. From soil to wildlife to seasonal growing, we help visitors understand the living systems behind everyday food.

Our sessions are hands-on, seasonal, and shaped around curiosity, helping people of all ages reconnect with farming & nature.

Group Farm Visits

Connecting People to Nature

We offer farm visits all year round for groups of all sizes — from schools and community organisations to environmental and farming groups. Interested? Get in touch, and we’ll help plan an itinerary that suits your group’s interests and needs.

Our pupils gained unforgettable hands-on experience discovering rare arable plants, deepening their understanding of biodiversity and inspiring them to respect and protect natural habitats. The freedom to explore the fields, and the joy it brought, will stay with them for years

Farm Open Days

We are a working farm, so sorry, we are not open to the public all the time.  However a couple of times a year we open the farm to everyone.  Events include Local Lambing Live, Farm Walks, Open Farm Days & Bird Counts, to find out if any are happening soon it is always best to look at our instagram page.

The children’s knowledge of both ecology and nature-friendly farming improved greatly. Before the visit, many had never heard of rare arable plants, but by the end they could explain what they are, why they matter, and how farming practices affect them. The hands-on learning—walking through the fields, spotting plants, and discussing them—helped make everything more meaningful and memorable. It also deepened their understanding of habitats and why protecting different plant species is important
